On the Road to Anime St. Louis

March 27-29

Alley Man Publications is hitting the road and heading for Anime St. Louis at the end of March. Three members will be joining us and will be passing the time among the attendees. Visit our booth for more information. We will be hosting our first of a series of panels at Anime St. Louis: "Breaking into Comics for Print or Web"

We will be covering such topics as collaboration between writers and illustrators, the fundamentals of planning and organizing the release of serials, and a dicussion on the legal aspects of publishing and how to protect the creator and the work. We are rooting for a good turn-out and hope to share some good know-how with attendees.

Alley Man is proud to present, for the first time ever at Anime St. Louis, The Slants. NPR's All Things Considered states that "It's tempting to peg the Slants in some existing Asian genre: Canto-pop, J-Metal, Viet Core....but they're not quite that simple." Incase you haven't heard, The Slants are an Asian synth-pop band that have been melting faces off all over the country. Since the creation of the band, The Slants have toured the country five times, received press for turning down a million dollar recording contract as well as being banned from a venue in Portland due to breathing fire, and were the first and only Asian band to be a Fender Music featured artist. More importantly, we booked 'em and are glad to be seeing them perform in St. Louis, so for those that we're not planning on flying out or making the drive, think about what you'll be missing.

We hope to see you all there and pass by the booth, even if just to say howdy.
